The Oxford AHSN Clinical Innovation Adoption (CIA) programme has secured funding of €248,000 to deliver a comprehensive “one stop” information point for industry and innovators seeking to trade in EU countries.
The aim is to bring together in a single place key aspects of a country’s healthcare market, including market structure, regulation, how to provide a meaningful value proposition and reimbursement. The funding is from the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Health, an EU commissioned organisation.
Tracey Marriott, Oxford AHSN’s Director of Clinical Innovation Adoption, said: “Adoption and diffusion of innovation are key factors for improving healthcare in the UK and across Europe. Fuelled by an ageing population and migration, the importance of finding ways to accelerate rapid market penetration of innovations, products and services and of working together has never been more pressing.”
During 2017 the CIA team will produce the first iteration of the “EU Health Map” providing market information on the UK, Sweden and the Netherlands. This information will be made available online to industry within these three countries. The intention is to extend the portfolio to other European countries.
