The Oxford AHSN Anxiety and Depression Network is fortunate to have an active Patient and Public Forum with membership of ex-service users and patient involvement representatives from all IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) services across the Thames Valley and Milton Keynes.

Patient and Public Forum meetings are held every two months for 2.5 hours with a working supper included. The forum is consulted on network activity and forum-led projects are taken forward. A common theme has been patients’ anxiety around coping on their own once discharged as it was generally felt that not enough attention was given to preparing patients for staying well once treatment had finished, especially at step 2 treatment.

The A&D Network’s work programme is driven by the Forum. This has resulted in a focus on relapse prevention/staying well initiatives for 2018-20.

The Forum has been set up in a structured and transparent way and reflects the ethos, partnership working and mutual respect which are at its core. Below are a number of documents which reflect this:
