November 2016: Extended network conference
On 15 November 2016 we held an extended network conference in Reading, focusing on psychological therapies for adults and children. Further details on this event can be found here.
September 2016: Advanced skills training for agoraphobia
Professor Paul Salkovskis kindly offered the network a day of his time to further develop therapists’ skills as this was identified as a development need, following careful analysis of disorder specific recovery rates. Attended by over 60 staff from across the Oxford AHSN region, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive with staff feeling more confident in following the NICE recommended treatment protocol for agoraphobia.
July 2016: Advanced cognitive behaviour therapy for insomnia
Dr Phil Gehrman spent the day going through treatment adaptations for people suffering from long term physical health problems and co-morbid depression/anxiety. Attended by some 80 members of staff from across the Oxford AHSN region. Feedback was very positive with staff feeling better equipped to treat patients with insomnia with a more complex context of both physical and psychological distress.
