Peter Kent, 40, has had difficulty sleeping for more than 20 years.
He said: “I would find myself feeling lethargic a lot of the time. It would sometimes affect my concentration at work during the day, and I would continue to feel tired in the evening … it stole my energy and could change my mood at times.”
Peter tried many of the usual methods people turn to for help in getting to sleep: breathing and mindfulness techniques, eye masks, sleeping tablets – even Ovaltine – and has sought advice from friends, family, colleagues and healthcare professionals over the years, but nothing seemed to work.
All that changed, however, when Peter heard about Sleepio project on BBC News. After completing the six-week programme, Peter found that Sleepio had made a real and lasting improvement with the structured pace of the programme helping him to improve his sleep.
He said: “Since using the Sleepio programme I have had the best and most consistent sleep I’ve had in 20 years. I no longer fear going to bed and attempting to get a good night’s sleep. Sleepio has made a real difference, not just to my sleep but to all aspects of my life.”
