Service users, service providers, commissioners and researchers are working together to achieve and maintain excellent patient outcomes for people suffering with anxiety and/or depression.
The Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley Anxiety & Depression (A&D) Network aims to continuously improve the provision of psychological therapies for adults through sharing latest advances in treatment, careful performance data and patient outcome analyses and targeted research. All NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services across this region are active members of the A&D Network. These are:

- Talking Space Plus (Oxfordshire)
- Healthy Minds (Buckinghamshire)
- Talking Therapies (Milton Keynes)
2022/23 projects included:
- maintaining current high levels of recovery rates and increasing numbers of patients moving to recovery following treatment
- ensuring workforce skills mix is optimally utilised to reduce waiting times
- building on the successes of phases 1/2 and developing phase 3 of the ‘paddle’ therapy support app
- improving understanding of relapse rates for patients with depression/anxiety and identifying patients at higher risk of relapse
- piloting additional support alongside talking therapy for patients who have historically not done well in IAPT services
- supporting two mental health training programmes for staff in primary care and education
- increasing the number of older people who access psychological therapy
- managing personality disorder patients in primary care
- implementing integrated ‘Staying Well’ protocol for low intensity treatment
- reducing the number of patients who have to be ‘stepped up’ to high intensity treatment
- producing a model IAPT staff wellbeing strategy
- offering mental health awareness training (Bracknell Forest)
