Rachel has been working as public engagement manager at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2016. This was a new post with a remit to increase and embed patient and public involvement throughout the organisation.
The Trust’s aspiration is to ensure that patient and public involvement is realised at all levels of its work – from patients being fully involved in their own care decisions to strategic decision-making. Rachel manages the patient experience team which focuses on patient feedback via surveys and other more qualitative feedback such as patient stories and interviews. She is also responsible for equality and diversity across the trust as well as supporting 15 public participation groups (PPGs). Rachel previously worked in local government on engagement and statutory consultations and at universities in health and education research.
