A Leading Together programme for people with learning disabilities was piloted in 2018.
Five people with learning disabilities took part, alongside professionals from health and social care and support staff from the voluntary sector.
It ended with a graduation celebration event in November 2018 which was attended by 40 people. Speakers included Roger Banks, NHS England’s senior clinician for learning disabilities. For a copy of the independent evaluation report please contact sian.rees@oxfordahsn.org
Certificates were presented by Professor Gary Ford, Chief Executive of Oxford Academic Health Science Network. He said: “This innovative programme will make a difference in the long-term, particularly on the health and social care organisations who have engaged with it.”
The Leading Together learning disabilities pilot programme was delivered by TPC Health in partnership with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and My Life, My Choice. Discussions are taking place over running further cohorts in 2019.
