Who are we?
Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley (HIOTV) is part of the NHS, commissioned by NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences (OLS) to connect the NHS, industry and academia and turn healthcare innovations into practical solutions that benefit patients, the health system and the wider economy.
Along with England’s other 14 regional Health Innovation Networks we form the Health Innovation Network (HIN).
What can Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley do for me?
We work with NHS organisations to identify, test and scale innovations that improve care and efficiency.
We can help you evaluate new technologies or models of care, understand system priorities and deliver change projects that improve outcomes.
We also help connect you with innovators and industry partners developing solutions that meet local needs.
Do you charge a fee?
Our work is commissioned nationally by NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences, so many of our core services are free for NHS partners
Do you collaborate with pharma and industry partners?
Yes. We regularly work with pharma and life sciences companies to support projects that improve patient outcomes and system efficiency.
Our role is to make sure collaborations align with NHS priorities, follow governance standards and deliver measurable benefits for patients and staff.
Do you only work with NHS organisations in the Thames Valley?
No. While we are closely connected to our local Integrated Care Systems Boards and other NHS partners, we support programmes and evaluations across England.
We also work with national partners and international innovators whose products or services have potential to benefit the NHS in England.
Is your support limited to certain clinical areas?
No. We have national and regional priorities in areas such as maternity and neonatal care, respiratory health, mental health and cardiovascular disease, but we also support innovations and improvement projects in other clinical areas too.
How do I get started?
