- Biography
Dr Sarah Elkin is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. She has expertise in COPD, asthma and integrated respiratory care, and has worked across hospital, community and primary care for many years, including leading a large integrated respiratory service.
Within the Respiratory Transformation Partnership, she was Clinical Lead for the PTF-funded site programme and is Clinical Lead for COPD Neighbourhood Development. Her work focuses on improving care across the COPD pathway — from earlier and more accurate diagnosis and delivery of the fundamentals of care, through to identifying rising risk and developing models that bring specialist expertise closer to patients.
A particular focus of her work is how services can work differently across organisational boundaries to identify deterioration earlier, optimise care and reduce avoidable morbidity and hospital admissions.
