AI for health: governing the ecosystem

10.30-11.30

Webinar

This 60-minute workshop is part of a wider programme facilitated by Bucks HSC Ventures. It is delivered by Jessica Morley from Oxford University DataLab.

It is well-established that data science, including AI, holds huge potential for healthcare. However, it is also well-known that big data analytics and AI pose considerable ethical risks. So how can the ‘dual advantage’ of ethical AI be achieved where the opportunities are capitalised on but the risks are mitigated? This is the question that this talk seeks to answer, by paying particular attention to the laws, ethics and policies governing the use of AI in the NHS.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

Who should attend?

People who are working in the area of medical devices/digital health solutions, including:

  • clinicians
  • science students
  • innovators

  • SMEs

This is part of a series of online events running through to the end of July hosted by Bucks HSC Ventures which works directly with health and social care providers to ensure new business ideas meet their needs. By combining expertise, facilities and networks, it also introduces these innovations to market.

The programme is a collaboration between the Oxford AHSN, Bucks New University, Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Buckinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group and Buckinghamshire County Council. It is supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
