Nick has over 22 years experience in commercial and business development in the life sciences sector.
Dr Paul Durrands, Chief Operating Officer at Oxford AHSN, said: “We are delighted to have appointed Nick to this key post. He is returning to Oxford where he worked for a number of years in senior roles (eg British Biotech, Powderject) and as a consultant to a wide range of organisations. It’s critical that the NHS works more effectively with local and international industry to develop the products and services for future patient care in England and across the world.
“He has a wealth of knowledge of commercialisation of intellectual property and technology transfer and has worked with many stakeholders at top levels in government, industry, academia and the NHS.”
Nick said: “I am delighted to be joining the Oxford AHSN team and look forward very much to working with all sections of the community in developing a strong network of partnerships between the NHS, universities and industry.
“Opportunities for new innovations to make a difference to patient care are expanding all the time and this is a crucial area where the Oxford AHSN can make a real difference.”
Dr Nicholas Edwards, Chair of the Oxford AHSN Wealth Creation Oversight Group, said: “Nick will be able to make a very significant contribution in working with universities, the NHS and businesses to help improve patient care and improve prosperity across the region.”

Nick Scott-Ram was awarded the MBE for services to biotechnology in 2001. He takes up the post of Director of Commercial Development at Oxford AHSN on 14 April.
