Building on a decade of health innovation

To mark the start of our second decade accelerating the adoption and spread of health innovation, we are showcasing a series of wide-ranging examples of our work with partners in the NHS, research and industry to meet health needs.

Since 2013 Health Innovation Oxford and Thames Valley (formerly the Oxford AHSN) has helped transform services in line with national, regional and local NHS priorities, improving patient outcomes and generating economic growth.

Professor Gary Ford has been Chief Executive throughout the organisation’s first ten years. He said: “As we enter our second decade, we will continue embedding innovation into everyday practice, helping our NHS partners tackle the most pressing issues – from disease prevention in primary care, through optimising the use of diagnostics, digital and AI to address workforce pressures, to delivering new drug and other therapies.”

The ten high impact case studies from our first decade include: safer pregnancies, quicker stroke care, better sleep, safe care at home, better asthma care, boosting the economy, CVD prevention, safer preterm births, improving NHS productivity and supporting care homes. See links below:
